Volunteer Needed to Lead the Younger Chemists Committee (YCC)

The American Chemical Society’s Younger Chemists Committee (YCC) was formed to identify the needs and concerns of young chemists and to develop programs responsive to their needs. YCC is driven by three goals:

  1. Make the ACS relevant to younger chemists
  2. Increase the involvement of younger chemists in the ACS at all levels
  3. Develop mechanisms to integrate younger chemists into the profession

The Rochester Section is looking for someone to lead this effort.

Awards are made on the basis of scientific merit and cover the registration fee, transportation, lodging, and meals associated with attending the Younger Chemist Leadership Development Workshop and the ACS Leadership Institute

Deadline: All application material must be received by November 1st for consideration.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Greater Rochester Younger Chemists Committee is to integrate young chemists into the profession of chemistry and increase their involvement in the American Chemical Society at both the local and national level.  The GR-YCC strives to do this through organizing professional and social events intended to facilitate networking and provide valuable professional information to chemists just starting out in their careers.  Through these activities we hope to make the ACS relevant to young chemists and encourage their active participation in the ACS.
